The ISfTeH, a leading global body in telemedicine and digital health, was officially recognized by WHO in 2008.
The ISfTeH is arguably the key professional body in the field of telemedicine, and digital health as a whole, in the world. Its network is a crucial asset for knowledge sharing and dissemination of best practices. In recognition of the potential the ISfTeH has to support digital health worldwide, the Executive Board of the World Health Organization at its 122nd session in January 2008 admitted the Society into official relations with WHO. Since then, the Society has been engaged in specific relevant aspects of WHO’s Global Programme of Work (GPW), which is planned and implemented in three-year periods.
