From Pilots to Scale: Practical Pathways for Telehealth in Africa
What does it take to move telehealth from pilot projects to sustainable scale? The policy brief “From Pilots to Scale: Practical Pathways for Telehealth in Africa”, captures key insights and recommendations generated through discussions at the Telehealth Solutions Lab, held at the 2025 Global Digital Health Forum in Nairobi, Kenya.
The brief highlights five critical areas that participants identified as essential for sustainable telehealth scale:
• Policy and regulation
• Financing and sustainability
• Interoperability and data use
• User adoption and equity
• Service delivery and workforce integration
