The IV Seminar on Knowledge, Innovation and Communication in Health Services (IV KIC Health Brazil 2027) will take place on March 18–19, 2027, in Rio de Janeiro or Brasília, Brazil (venue to be confirmed). Organized by the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (FIOCRUZ), the international scientific event will bring together researchers, health professionals, managers, policymakers, and graduate students to discuss the future of health services in the digital era.
This year’s theme, “Humanities in the Digital Health Reform: Challenges of Artificial Intelligence and Biotechnology in Health Services,” will focus on emerging issues in artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and digital health from the perspective of humanities and health systems. The program will feature keynote lectures, roundtable discussions, thematic sessions, and scientific paper presentations.
Highlights include an opening keynote on artificial intelligence and mixed reality in health, and a second keynote on patients’ rights protection and ethical considerations in an artificial intelligence world. Additional sessions will address robotics and mechatronics in health systems, digital trust and health records, human rights and health in digital reform, biotechnology and health communication, and ethics in health research.
The seminar aims to strengthen international and Lusophone cooperation in health, promote critical digital health literacy, and support evidence-based decision-making on advanced technologies, particularly in the Global South.
