The Globally Recognized and Accredited Master of Digital Health (MDH) initiative aims to harmonize digital health education worldwide by defining common competencies, a standardized core curriculum with specialist tracks (e.g. AI for Health, Interoperability, Telehealth), and an international accreditation and certification framework. It will build a university consortium, enable faculty and student mobility, and seek funding so that MDH graduates have portable, workforce-ready qualifications for the global health ecosystem.

As an initiative of ISfTeH member, Deggendorf Institute of Technology – European Campus Rottal-Inn (DIT-ECRI), led by Prof. Dr. Georgi Chaltikyan, it brings together a large group of , leaders and representatives from institutions of higher education, professional bodies, and digital health stakeholders from around the world to collaborate on the MDH degree.

At the recent DigiHealthDay conference, held at DIT-ECRI, these representatives came together and acknowledged the urgent global imperative to rapidly expand the skilled, future-ready workforce equipped to advance digitally enabled health care to strengthen patient safety, quality of care, and equitable access to health services.

They expressed their intention to consider establishing a global collaborative platform – the Master of Digital Health Alliance (MDH Alliance, MDHA) – dedicated to developing and promoting a common core of digital health competences that will encourage cross-border mobility of these trained professionals.

A formal declaration and next steps will be announced soon.
