Launch of ISfTeH Ghana National Chapter
23 August 2025Exciting News: ISfTeH’s Official Relations with WHO Renewed
Earlier this year, the Digital Health Sans Borders (DHSB) was launched in Geneva during a World Health Assembly side event, with the Geneva Declaration of Responsibility in Digital Health. Leaders from global associations and representatives of WHO, UN, OECD, ITU, ISfTeH and others endorsed the effort. WHO Secretary General Dr. Tedros emphasized cross-border cooperation to advance Universal Health Coverage and the SDGs. The movement aims to narrow the digital health divide for equitable, people-centred care in underserved regions.
The Declaration calls for ethical, inclusive, and accountable digital health, built on interoperable infrastructure, data-sharing frameworks, open standards, and local capacity development. Architect Dr. Rajendra Pratap Gupta, ISfTeH board member, framed DHSB as a moral imperative to bring “the best of the world to the rest of the world.” Next steps include formalising the initiative, launching programs in underserved areas, a Digital Health Champions Fellowship, and a Global Steering Committee. The event was hosted by Health Parliament and the Academy of Digital Health Sciences with the Geneva Digital Health Hub, GIDH and ISfTeH, under the banner “One World. One Health. One Digital Future.”
